MR Coordinator Survey (North West) at Samancor Chrome

Job Responsibilities:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation, and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

CUSTOMERS:

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction

PEOPLE:

Supervise the Team:

• Ensure an enabling climate/culture
• Maintain labour stability by minimising labour turnover
• Labour complement in line with budget
• Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
• Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels

BUSINESS PROCESSES:

Surveying:

• Conduct opencasts and underground survey
• Plot and project survey points
• Opencast and/or underground offsetting and month end measuring
• Plot linear measurements on a plan and calculate volumes
• Establish survey control and align drilling machines
• Produce a survey note and update reef models
• Establish side grade pegs in a flat development and inclined development.

Shareholder Value:

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12/N3
• Elementary Survey certificate
• At least 3 year’s experience in mining environment

Additional qualifications:

• Drone License 

Skills & Knowledge:

• Microsoft Office
• Samancor Chrome Systems (IMS, EBMS, Chromedoc, MES)
• AutoCAD, Modelmaker, Pix4D
• Knowledge of underground and opencast survey techniques.
