    National Account Manager - Retail (FMCG)

We are currently looking for a sales Account Manager to join our diverse team in the north of Johannesburg.

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing BRF's Retail and Food Service commercial activities in South Africa and other trading activities in other regions that may be assigned from time to time in sub Saharan Africa, ensuring achievement of the overall commercial targets and consistent profitable growth for the regions though the consistent and continuous development and optimization of sales. 

    Requirements:

    Essential:

    • Minimum 3 years retail sales (merchandising) Account management experience is mandatory
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in FMCG / Consumer Goods environment is mandatory

    Desirable:

    • Experience in B2B sales / trading
    • Experience in the meat and poultry sector
    • Experience into various sub-Saharan African countries

    • Thorough understanding of the retail sales cycle
    • Familiarity with South African retailers
    • Merchandising Management principles
    • Understanding of Go-to-Market and Route-to-Market Strategies
    • Understanding of financial concepts, e.g. pricing and P&L management

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence others

    Responsibilities

    • Creating new business by acquiring new clients and selling to the existing accounts, defining, implementing and monitoring distribution strategy, as well as build strong relationships with the clients (trade, retail, distribution etc)
    • Effective ongoing management of merchandising partners across all retail accounts, as well as, managing the retail account processes (listing, ranging, planograms, promotional grids, stock upliftment’s)
    • Ensures continuity of the relationship with the accounts and operates at the highest level in the accounts’ organizations, but also facilitates the executive level interfaces between the company and the accounts if necessary
    • Identify potential new market channels, geographies, consumer segments, and categories of business, and develop appropriate sales strategies (in conjunction with marketing) to address the opportunities (including but not limited to assessing the market potential, devising entry strategies, outlining distributor agreements, merchandizing agreements, defining pricing and GTM approaches etc)
    • Interface with the operational plan to validate the right volume allocation per brand, distributor and country to the S&OP process based on the operational plan and country managers BRF Network management
    • Align the prices in monthly basis with the pricing team in Brazil and define pricing policies per category, brand and country
    • Analyzes sales trends based on historical data to ensure strong performance and close performance gap
    • To manage the sales budget which includes travel and expenses

    Qualifications

    • Essential: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Management with emphasis in Sales & Marketing
    • Desirable: Masters in Business Administration
