Purpose of the Role

• As the .NET Developer SC Broker Portal, you will be responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-grade software solutions that support insurance and financial services operations.
• The role involves working within agile, cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications in a regulated environment.
• This role is based in Bellville, Cape Town and forms part of the Sanlam Corporate IT business unit. This role reports to the Platform Owner of SC IT.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using the Microsoft .NET technology stack.
• Build and support web-based and service-oriented applications.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Integrate applications using APIs and web services.
• Support production systems and resolve defects.
• Adhere to SDLC, DevOps, security, and governance standards.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• A minimum of 2 - 5 years of hands-on .net development experience, ideally within the insurance industry (with a preference for experience in Employee Benefits)
• 2 or more years of experience working in an agile environment, demonstrating expertise in agile methodologies and collaborative team dynamic

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong experience in C# and .NET / .NET Core development
• Knowledge in cloud technology like AWS.
• Exposure to Containers.
• Experience with ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with SQL Server and relational databases.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and source control systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience within insurance or financial services.
