Network Administrator at PayFast

PayFast is a leading online payment processing solution for individuals, NPOs and businesses of all sizes in South Africa. We are dedicated to enabling the easy, secure and instant transfer of money to online merchants to help them grow, develop and succeed in the digital economy.  

The key focus of the role is to provide and/or direct all aspects of system administration including installation, customization, monitoring and integration of computing systems in PayFast environment.  

Any member of this role will also work in PayFast production environments during quiet periods.  

Core Competencies:

• Review and analysis of Daily Logs/Backups  
•  Firewall Administration.  
•  Build and install PC’s and Servers to required standards  
•  Printer and facilities administration and installation  
•  Hardware and fault diagnosis  
•  Managing internal stock control of hardware and peripherals  
•  Maintaining Asset libraries using Snipe-it  
•  Security and incident response.  
•  Virtualization/Hypervisor administration.  
•  Administration of LAMP components  
•  Patch management  
•  Development and deployment of new systems

Requirements:  

• Proven experience in required technologies and skills  
• 1-3 years experience in a Linux environment  
•  Ability to administer a RHEL/CentOS environment  
•  High Proficiency in Windows and Active Directory.  
•  One of the following Firewalls (Mikrotik, Cisco, Juniper)  
•  WebServers (Apache, NginX)  
•  Mysql/Maria/Percona Servers  
•  One or more of the following Scripting Languages (Bash, perl, python, php)  
•  LVM and storage technologies.  
•  Distributed filesystems  
•  An in depth understanding of the TCP/IP stack and associated Protocols  
•  Hardening Systems  
•  Practical Knowledge of High Availability and redundant technologies.  
•  A Virtualization Technology
