Geomatics (Surveying)

 Minimum requirements

• A relevant Master’s degree (Geomatics, Surveying, GIS, or Built Environment) and MUST be ready to pursue a Doctoral qualification within the time permitted.

 Additional recommendations

• Candidates with specialization in the area of Cadastral and Engineering surveying and associated technical skills, e.g., CAD (Computer-aided design), GIS (Geographic information systems), Remote sensing, Drones/UAVs, etc., will be given preference.
• Registration/membership with SAGC and SAGI is essential.
• Good organizational and administrative
• Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching
• Experience and proficiency in E-learning (Moodle and MS Teams and or other platforms).
• Proficiency in researching, writing, and communications
• Be able to lecture on theory and practical modules in Geomatics (Surveying).
• A motivated self-starter, a responsible and accountable individual, in a team
• Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet,t, etc.) and email

 Summary of Duties

• Competent preparation and delivery of learning material related to Geomatics and appropriate technologies to students at an undergraduate level using online platforms.
• Development of learning material for Geomatics courses.
• Supervise, train, and assess undergraduate students.
• Undertake assessment and administration duties related to teaching and learning.
• Facilitate learning effectively through traditional and online methods. 
• Undertake research and publications, and become involved in community engagement
• Working collegially with team members toward attaining the goals of the department, faculty, and university. 
• Assist with administrative and other duties as delegated by the Head of Department or Representative.
