nGap Lecturer (Geography or related discipline) (Job ID: 5689) at University of the Free State

Duties and responsibilities:

• Provide formal teaching of Human Geography and GIS modules for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Provide study leadership at postgraduate level.
• Be actively involved in research. 
• Recruit postgraduate students.
• Supervise and provide consultation sessions for postgraduate students.
• Source external research funding and forge linkage with the industry.
• Perform general administration duties as applicable at university level.

Inherent Job Requirements:

Lecturer

• Master’s degree in Geography or related discipline on NQF Level 9 passed with a minimum of 70% (please attach academic record).
• Commitment to register for a doctoral degree in Geography at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.

Recommendations:

• A PhD degree on NQF Level 10 in Geography or closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in presentation of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
