    NGAP Lecturers -Ecotourism Management

    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    Key performance areas include but not limited to:

    •  Academic leadership – Teach and assess students at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
    •  Complete a PhD within the nGap framework of 6 years.
    •  Research – Undertake post-graduate research in field of specialisation, provide accredited research outputs and undertake post graduate supervision and examination.
    •  Develop curriculum in applicable field of specialisation, influence the development, maintenance and control in field of specialisation.
    •  Industry relationship building – Liaise with industry including consultation work/collaborative research and plan.
    •  Community engagement – Participate in community flagship programme/projects.
    • Internal process – Conduct ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line-manager.

    APPLICATION CRITERIA:
    Qualification and Experience:

    •  A completed Master’s with a pass mark of 70% in the following fields of specialisation: Ecotourism Management, Biological/Ecological Science, Botany, Zoology or a Nature Conservation qualification. Please attach proof of Masters results.
    •  Minimum of one (1) year teaching, learning, industrial or practice experience.
    •  Relevant research experience will be a recommendation.
    •  The candidate should be a South African citizen below the age of 40.
    •  Disabled candidates will not be excluded.

    Skills and Competencies:

    •  Excellent communication and presentation skills, excellent teaching skills, planning and organising skills, conceptual skills, analytical ability, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills. The candidate should be familiar with Biology, Ecology, Nature conservation as well as Ecotourism Management principles.
