    Night Supervisor - Vosloorus

    Job Summary:

    The Night Supervisor will accept full and overall accountability for the hospital at night ensuring a safe environment for all patients, staff and stakeholders, and promoting quality patient care and patient experience through operational excellence whilst maintain the highest standards of professionalism and respect. In addition, to ensure cost effective service delivery within legal parameters, policies and procedures.

     Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Cur/Diploma in General Nursing.
    • Bcur ET.Admin Qualification
    • Current registration with South African Nursing Council.
    • BLS qualification.
    • Further Business Management / Post Basic qualification advantageous.
    • Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS advantageous.
    • 3+ years’ experience at a managerial/supervisory level.
    • Computer Literacy.

     Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Perform all duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards.
    • Adhere to the principles and standards of Patient Advocacy according to SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient rights and Responsibility Charter., National Millennium Development goals and responsibility of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
    • Implement the nursing strategy in order to drive the strategic nursing plan and align night staff outputs, accordingly, assess patient acuity at all wards during the night and determine resource needs for the following day.
    • Monitor the safety and care delivered by staff, including agency staff, identify quality improvement and implement opportunities to improve quality service delivery at night.
    • Conduct regular ward rounds, including monitoring equipment, audits and patient environment checks.
    • Co-ordinate after hour admissions and ensure effective recordkeeping and handover the next morning.
    • Issue medication and manage the stock levels of Emergency Pharmacy Cupboard.
