Node.js Engineer 

A world reknowned organization who is known for their transformation and innovation in the food industry is looking for a very skilled Node.js Backend Software Engineer to join them on their new office in Cape Town  South Africa on a permanent basis. You will be joining more than just a company, you will be making an impact in the world of technology from your laptop.  

Salary up to R60 000 annually 

You’ll be the key member of the  A- team developing our main products.

Profile of what you will be doing:

• Build reusable APIs for our delivery system in Node.js that work at an ever growing scale 
• Taking full ownership of the features you are working on - from design time to supporting in production 
• Create and maintain scalable infrastructure leveraging modern cloud platforms 
• Do regular code reviews and promote best practices 
• Maintain expertise in current and emerging technologies and tools

Requirements 

• Experienced with full-stack Javascript development in Node.js, 
• The design and implementation of REST APIs, 
• Microservices and Service architecture, 
• Relational and NoSQL databases. 
• Experience with Amazon Web Services especially AWS Lambda, 
• The ability to write unit tests at each application layer, 
• Experience with version control like Git and continuous delivery cycles 
• Ability to work in agile, fast-paced environment 
• Decent oral and written communication and presentation skills

Knowledge of the following technologies:

• Amazon Web Services 
• PostgreSQL 
• Meteor JS 
• MongoDB 
• Node.js                               

Optional:

•  Exposure to Typescript, 
•  Experience with JS frameworks like React, Angular or Vue is a bonus, 
•  AWS Devops experience
