Relevant nursing qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant. Current proof of registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
Competencies: Perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the health facility. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills with patients and members of the multi-disciplinary team. Must be able to work in a team. Must be able to work under pressure.
Duties :
Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality nursing care. Work effectively and co-operatively with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial and religious differences.
Display a concern for patients, promoting and advocating proper treatment and care including awareness and willingness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements and expectations (Batho Pele). Ability to provide patient care and support and assist with activities of daily living ie. All basic needs that the patient has.
Ability to provide emotional support to patients and families. Ability to monitor and record the internal homeostasis of patients and record and report. Ability to prepare and utilise medical equipment effectively. Ability to utilise material resources efficiently. and assist with minor procedures. Always maintain a clean and safe environment.
Provide health education to patients, family, and community to promote health. Adherence to infection control and waste management principles. Adherence to the Ideal hospital Realization Framework. Compliance to PMDS and CPD requirements. Maintain constructive working relationships with nurses and other stakeholders. Ability to put measures in place to prevent patient safety incidents.
