    Nutrition Lead SSA

    Position Purpose & Summary

    This is a key position that provides our internal and external customers with the best nutritional solution (mainly poultry) within the set of requirements and restrictions identified, based on the least-cost formulation. Current and new formulations across species are designed and maintained in feed formulation software. New technologies will be introduced and implemented at customers and next to this support will be given to creating new (service) offerings.

    Principal Accountabilities

    30%

    • Be the feed formulation partner for internal and external customer and become the go-to person for ingredient know-how and nutrient evaluation-related questions; keep customer nutrient matrix from feed ingredients up to date

    20%

    • Optimization of nutritional requests, creating the best offer from a nutritional as well as commercial perspective – Trusted advisor to the customer
       

    20%

    • Leading the implementation of new technologies at key customers in South Africa
       

    15%

    • Leading and executing projects related to ingredient, nutrient, production know how

    10%

    • In conjunction with, specie leads (poultry/ruminants) and other functions where applicable, evaluate opportunities for cost savings/avoidance through nutrition in the existing and/or new product portfolio

    5%

    • Training of new people both in formulation as in species teams related to nutrition

    Education Experience and Skills

    • Willingness to develop skills within an international setting and multi-disciplinary teams
    • Communicate complex nutritional subjects in an easy way to nutritional experts at customers
    • Achieving a standard of excellence within work processes and outcomes
    • Striving for high customer satisfaction
    • Industry interest
    • Willingness to travel international

    Required Qualifications

    • Academic degree (MSc) preferred in animal nutrition or another related field
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in animal nutrition
    • Demonstrated needed capabilities / skills
    • Being observed as the expert in formulation both internal as external
    • Create and present new nutritional technologies to customers
    • Lead brainstorm sessions/nutritional dialogue with key customers about nutritional subjects
    • Independent asses/audit customers on formulation subjects
    • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
    • Being a team player
    • Being an easy communicator
    • Travel 60%; from which 80% local, 20% regional
    • Computer literate
    • Fluent in English
       

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in application of nutrition to support business growth
    • International studies and/or working experience
    • Background and experience in layer nutrition
