Afrocentric Fastpulse is looking to hire an Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner based in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site service delivery of a high standard to meet the expectations of the client and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).

The incumbents to the role will be responsible for the following:

• Oversee and provide services according to an Occupational Health / clinic plan and agreed SLA’s.
• Manage a medical surveillance schedule and plan, in line with a medical surveillance matrix and plan.
• Conduct medical surveillance examinations.
• Conduct workplace hygiene inspections.
• Follow up abnormal screening results and close the loop regarding fitness to work certification.
• Assist and facilitate the return to work process and assessments.
• Deliver Primary Health Care (PHC) and Wellness services.
• Treatment of employees with minor healthcare ailments, acute illness and chronic disease management.
• Co-ordinate and attend to medical emergencies and first aid provision in the workplace.
• Manage a clinic budget including stock requirements for medicine and consumables.
• Comply with all administration requirements related to the service. This includes reporting, both written and statistical reporting, clinic registers and related reporting in support of the Occupational Health Medical Practitioner.
• COID support, administration, implementation and facilitation. Investigate occupational diseases and incidents management.
• Provide healthcare education, health promotion and preventative strategies.
• Attending relevant meetings and participate in health and safety committees.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Nurse with Nursing Diploma / Degree with additional qualification in Occupational Health Nursing (BTech Degree or Diploma)
• Certificates in Dispensing, Audiometry, Vision and Spirometry

Requirements

• Own transport and drivers’ licence.
• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) and Department of Health (DOH)
• Membership with South African Society Occupational Health Nursing (SASOHN) / or Own Indemnity insurance.
• At least 2 years’ experience and knowledge of providing Occupational Health services.
