Grade 12 with appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA). HPCSA registration as an independent Practitioner and Current registration with HPCSA.
Grade 1: Less than 10 relevant experiences after registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist.
Knowledge in community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) and Primary Health Care Services. Valid drivers’ licence is essential. A sound knowledge of clinical theory, practice and ethics relating to the delivery of Occupational Therapy services within a clinic setting. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Duties :
Suitable candidate will be expected to render effective patient centred Occupational Therapy services in a clinic and community setting in adherence to the scope of practice and health protocols.
Provide community base services with focus on health promotion, prevention, curative and community intervention. Compilation of daily and monthly reports using the available departmental tool.
Relieve as and when the need arises, and to work closely with multidisciplinary team members. Carry out delegated duties by supervisor or manager. Participating in student training and supervision. Implement and maintain quality assurance, National core standards, Ideal clinic and norms at facility level.
Adhere to provincial, district and clinic policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations. Assist with budget control and asset management. Contribute and participate in continuous professional development activities, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team members. Participate in research projects of the district. Communicate effectively with effectively with all stakeholders with all consumables and equipment.
