OCR Platform & GenAI Engineer at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• We're looking for a hands-on engineer who can build, run, and scale next-gen intelligent document solutions powered by LLMs and cloud-native architecture.

What you'll be working on

• You'll be at the heart of an OCR & Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) platform, bringing GenAI into the mix to unlock smarter automation.

Think:

• AI that reads, understands, and summarizes documents
• Systems that classify and validate data automatically
• Enterprise-grade platforms running at scale in AWS

What you'll actually do

Build cool stuff

• Design and develop GenAI-powered services & APIs
• Create LLM-driven capabilities like:
• Document extraction
• Classification
• Summarisation
• Decisioning

Keep things running smoothly

• Own and support the OCR platform (including Tungsten Automation)
• Handle incidents, troubleshoot issues, and optimise performance
• Manage upgrades, configs, and integrations

Work your AWS magic

• Build and deploy solutions using:
• EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Step Functions, S3, IAM
• Implement CI/CD pipelines & Infrastructure-as-Code
• Ensure everything is secure, scalable, and compliant
• Be the go-to expert
• Create runbooks and support documentation
• Collaborate with infra, security, and platform teams
• Drive stability and reliability across the platform

What you need to bring

• 5+ years in Software Engineering
• 5+ years building systems on AWS
• Strong experience with APIs & system integration
• 3+ years with OCR / IDP platforms
• 3+ years supporting production enterprise systems

Solid experience in:

• DevOps & Infrastructure-as-Code
• RPA / OCR platform development

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with Tungsten Automation (or similar platforms)
• Exposure to LLMs / GenAI in production
• Background in banking or regulated environments
