OMS Advisor - Uitenhage at DHL Supply Chain

Job Purpose:

• To ensure Area objectives are met as the head of the Area’s so that customer requirements are met through effective logistics supply management. Develop and lead teams to ensure that the best results and objectives are always achieved.

Key Accountabilities:

•  Ensure adherence to the company’s rules and regulations as documented in the company’s disciplinary policy.
•  Ensure that housekeeping is maintained in your work area.
•  Ensure safe work practices as defined during induction and Health & Safety training and awareness campaigns.
•  Maintain high levels of accuracy within your allocated department.
•  Implement business process quality & improvement plans and processes to achieve defined business objectives
•  Deliver process quality & improvement initiatives in various areas such as sorting, warehousing, transportation, and delivery operations to increase efficiency and quality to provide benefits to internal and external customers
•  Analyse, reconcile data and use a structured approach to understand process quality & improvement needs and to estimate potential benefits
•  Recommend innovative process improvements and quality control methods, and develop them further
•  Lay down appropriate performance indicators such as delivery time, damages, etc. to measure process dimensions and process improvements
•  Adhere to project timelines, quality objectives and defined budgets
•  Support implementation and hand over of solutions to the business owners
•  Prepare content and deliver training on business process quality & improvement methodologies
•  Provide guidance and coach consistent and effective application of the process excellence methodologies and share knowledge
•  Provide support on issues and problems from less experienced/ new team members, provide direction and guidance as needed
•  Convince other subject matter experts to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
•  May cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
•  Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DPDHL managers
•  Understand customer and key stakeholder’s interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
•  Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees
•  Individual contributor who may manage two or fewer employees
•  May direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs
•  Coach, review and delegate work to lower-level professionals
•  Ensure required administrative functions are adhered to.
•  Any other reasonable and executable task within your vocational ability assigned by Superior.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:

•  Grade 12/Matric (English & Mathematics/Math Literacy)
•  Tertiary Bachelors Degree may be advantageous
•  5 years Experience within a similar
•  Code B Driver’s license
•  Proficient software skills (MS Word, MS Excel)
•  Ability to analyze information, adapt and respond to change and cope with setbacks and pressure.
