    Operational Planning Specialist

    Job Description

    The role is based at our Mogalakwena operations where your day-to-day duties will include:

    • To design and develop a generic calibrated data-driven Business Structure Performance (BSP) model for the operation.
    • To embed the necessary safety controls within the model and systems / processes managed through appropriate safety checkpoints established throughout the Operational Planning process as integrated with layer 1 and 2 of Operational Risk Management
    • Translate business expectations into site-specific objectives.
    • Compile improvement scenarios and options from across the business.
    • Identify challenging and omissions of threats in conjunction with departments in achieving the plan and coordinating the opportunities to improve or mitigate.
    • Develop guidelines and tools to support departments in developing Production and Service Strategies, and ensuring process is consistent across departments and compliant with the AOM.
    • Facilitate the Management Routines in support of Operational Planning across the site to collect key inputs from site departments and corporate functions to scheduled work in the OMS.
    • Provide visibility of outputs from OMS, Expenditure Schedule and provide information regarding the Routine Operating Schedule.
    • Monitor and improve the effectiveness of the AAOM Operational Planning processes on site.
    • Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
    • Support the development of, and ultimately implement, a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the teams that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity.

    This role is in the Integrated Planning & Operating Model department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Integrated Planning & Operating Model.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • B-Tech or Bachelor’s degree. (Mining, Industrial, Processing, Geoscience, all the types of engineering),
    • Lean, 6 Sigma, Simio Modelling, Project Management advantageous

    Experience

    • At least 5-8 years experience
    • An understanding of the principles of how operational processes are classified according to the Operating Model.
    • Demonstrated understanding of Project management fundamentals.
    • Business acumen and commercial drivers of site performance
    • Demonstrated usage of MS Projects/ Smartsheets/ Think cell and @ Risk Monte Carlo
    • Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light Vehicle)
