Job Advert Summary    

• Clover is currently recruiting for a Boiler Operator. The purpose of the position is to operate boiler within guidelines in the production process and to ensure boiler equipment are clean. This exciting opportunity is based at the Clover Clayville branch.

Requirements    

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4
• Boiler Operation Training Certificate (Compulsory)
• Minimum 3 years’ Experience as a Boiler Operator
• Relevant experience in applying job-related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level
• Business English: Fluent
• Work in confined spaces
• Work in extreme conditions
• Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities    
Operate boilers within guidelines

• Evaluate coal quality        
• Give feedback regarding quality of coal and suitability thereof        
• Test stipulated boiler components and water daily  
• Test Boiler safeties daily
• Check Boiler chemical usage daily      
• Follow shift change procedures        
• Feed boilers with coal using a tractor were applicable        
• Record and report on utilisation of coal, steam, water etc in the Clover Way Better team A61

Clean boiler equipment

• Clean boiler equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures        
• Control detergent measurements        
• Take water samples to the laboratory        
• Maintain good housekeeping practices        
• Clean boiler house and surrounding area

Apply safety principles

• Comply with safety standards         
• Conduct safety inspections        
• Maintain equipment e.g. tractor, water softer plant etc.
