Operator Excavator; 7OC; NVC023/23GS - (12 Months Fixed Term Contract) at Seriti

The role:

• To execute production activities according to the Schedule and operate the physical assets and equipment as defined by HSEC requirements, the Operation’s standards and operating procedures

The duties will include but are not limited to:

• Operate the excavator machine
• Loading of truck as instructed
• Execute the production and / or logistics activities according to the Schedule and only where competent to do so
• Work with physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by the Operation’s standards and operating procedures
• Assist to develop and enhance work practices and procedures
• Review and update plans and equipment history and communicate status to appropriate parties
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards
• Review and request updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required achieving timely and accurate execution of work orders (e.g. capturing time and attendance as well as all transactional data about work performed)
• Conduct the pre-shift checks
• Look at task list and list priorities for the day and record the findings on a pre-shift check book
• Complete pre-shift report prior to operating machine
• If working in high wall area, check for cracks and spillages – if they exist, inform Supervisor
• Removing and separation of rocks from the coal and from tranches
• Remove / clean spoils / materials from the high wall
• Build safety beams to divide roads
• Transport topsoil

You will need:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics
• Valid driver’s license is essential
• Valid Excavator license
• Minimum of 1 year experience in operating an Excavator within a mining environment
• In possession of or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
