    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our Ice Cream Plant in Cape Town as an Operator. The Operator position plays a critical role in the production process and general housekeeping around the production area. Ensures compliance to production planning requirements. 

    Required Skills    

    •  At least 5 years experiences within the Ice Cream manufacturing environment
    •  Quality driven individual.
    •  Willingness to do repetitive work. 
    •  Punctuality and attendance reliability is essential. 
    •  Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, shifts and/ or flexible hours.  
    •  Ability to work in a team as well as independent. 
    •  Be accurate and pay attention to detail. 
    •  Be able to prioritize workloads and work under pressure.
    •  Excellent problem solving skills. 
    •  Have completed the basic dairy course. 

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    •  Daily checks and records to be updated and signed off.
    •  Familiar with offloading procedure of milk receiving and documentation.
    •  Ordering of materials required for the daily mixing production.
    •  Make-up of batches according to the recipes sheets per product required.
    •  Assemble of equipment in the blending room.
    •  Blending of materials in the blending room.
    •  Ensure that divert test is done daily before start of processing. 
    •  CIP of empty ageing vats
    •  Directly control and operate the mixing process.
    •  End of shift: CIP’s (pasteuriser, homogeniser, buttermelter, milk silo’s, ageing vats, flavour vats, conitnuous freezers, soft serve, catta, vegetable tank). 
    •  Sanitize of Plant to take place after the CIP process.
    •  Adhere and participate in internal audits: FSSC 22000  
    •  Comply with all SHER requirements.
    •  Participate in continuous improvement processes.
    •  Ensure neat housekeeping of the ice cream processing areas at all times.
    •  Control and update all relevant documentation including check sheets
