Paper Bag Machine Operator at Freedom Stationery (Pty) LTD

Description

• Freedom Printpak is looking for experienced SO Paper Bag machine operators who will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used to manufacture paper bags while ensuring production meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Set up and adjust paper bag making machines.
• Load paper rolls and other raw materials in absence of minder.
• Monitor machine operation and production output.
• Inspect finished bags for quality and defects.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Record production data and report issues.
• Check lubrication levels (oil points, gearboxes).
• Inspect belts, rollers, chains, and gears.
• Ensure glue system is clean and filled.
• Check heating elements (if bottom pasting machine).
• Monitor and ensure to follow quality procedures.   
• Follow job cards for instructions and to avoid any mistakes.
• Respect and follow the ISO quality standards and procedures to ensure full compliance with the SABS Quality management system.        
• Report any defects to your Setter/HOD/ Foreman.       

Requirements

• Previous experience operating Paper Bag Machine.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow production instructions.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials when required.
• Ability to work unsupervised
