Reporting to the Legal and Compliance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to provide assistance and support to the Legal & Compliance staff in gathering information, researching the law, and preparing legal documents.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Minimum 2 years post studies working experience in a legal environment
• LLB/ Legal qualification 

Key areas of responsibility

• Advising on legal issues and drafting of correspondence
• Manage all litigation matters for and against RMA and liaise with attorneys representing RMA.
• Draft and review company policies including product policies
• Conduct investigation with regard to application for increased compensation lodged by claimants in terms of COIDA
• Represent RMA during Tribunal Hearings of section 91 objections
• Manage business rescue and liquidation matters.
• Ensure recoveries of fraud claims
• Prepare monthly reports on legal matters.
• Assist the Department with any other ad hoc legal matters
• Oversee general day to day functions within the Department
