Payroll Executive at Salt South Africa

The role

• You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant end to end UK payroll, acting as a trusted payroll expert for clients, and supporting complex payroll queries. This is a consultative role rather than pure processing, where you’ll be advising, problem solving, and helping improve payroll processes and systems.

What you’ll be doing

• Running UK payroll end to end including monthly and weekly processing
• Managing HMRC submissions including PAYE, RTI and auto enrolment
• Handling year end processes such as P60s, P11Ds and PSAs
• Advising on UK payroll legislation, employment law, and statutory compliance
• Acting as the go to payroll expert for client queries and escalations
• Supporting payroll implementations, system changes and parallel runs
• Working closely with internal teams to resolve technical and process issues

What we’re looking for

• Proven UK payroll experience is essential
• Strong understanding of UK tax, employment law and statutory compliance
• Experience delivering end to end payroll
• Confident communicator who enjoys working directly with clients
• High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions driven mindset
• Payroll implementation experience is a strong advantage
