The Peer Navigators will be responsible for visiting clinics across Buffalo City Metropolitan on a daily basis to extract data from patient records, capture information into an electronic database, and conduct quality control checks on existing data. They will also liaise with clinic staff to ensure timely access to records and maintain data accuracy.
Job Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate
Communication skills (verbal and written)
Fluent in English and IsiXhosa
Experience in capturing/entering data
Duncan Village, Scenery Park, Buffalo Flats, Mdantsane, Nompumelelo, Ducats, Ndevana, King Williams Town/Bisho, Ginsberg, Zwelitsha, Izeleni, Fort Murray, KwaMlakalaka, KwaLini, KwaBhonke, eNgqokweni, Godidi, Ndileka, KwaNdubungela, Imidushane or Ngxwalane Communities and clinics with preference for applicants residing in these areas, and knowing the communities well
Computer literate (MS Office)
Ability to take initiative
Attention to detail
Ability to work with teams and independently
Good planning and organising
Time management
Able to assist with community meetings
Work experience in the community within the health sector
Basic- knowledge of public health and community resources
Advantageous:
Experience in using REDCap to enter/capture data
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate
Responsibilities:
Extract and capture electronic data on REDCap
Do quality control checks by comparing data points
Correcting captured data if necessary
Maintain research participant confidentiality
Perform all activities according to Good Clinical Practice Standards
Work in a consistently ethical manner
Provide report back during weekly site meetings
Communicate ongoing issues, concerns, and successes to the Line Manager
