    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Lead Civil Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
    • Co-ordinate and check the work of draftspersons in the preparation of contract drawings, record keeping and other statistical work
    • Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required
    • Perform conceptual layout work
    • Develop design details
    • Check drawings prior to release
    • Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the civil discipline and with other disciplines
    • Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models
    • Participation in formal engineering review processes
    • Verify on-site condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities
    • Construction supervision dependent upon project demands
    • Incorporate safety in design.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Essential

    • Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (civil/structural) Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
    • Minimum of five years civil design experience
    • Experience within a large-project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment
    • Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D civil design software packages
    • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project
    • Understanding of other discipline requirements
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good safety awareness. 

    Preferred

    • Professional engineering technician (Pr. Techni/PrTech) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or as applicable for the specific country
    • Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others
    • Experience in the use of Hatch procedures, adopted standard software and workflows in the execution of proj
