My client who is based in Pretoria East is looking for for self-motivated software developers with strong problem solving skills, a positive attitude and ability to pay careful attention to details to join our very competent team. They are focussed on the development and production of various products in the collections industry. They provide these solutions to small, medium and enterprise businesses. You will be responsible for the development, testing and documentation of REST APIs for the integration of web applications (developed in HTML5, CSS3 and AngularJS) into our product suites. The system is written in PHP & mySQL - although they are also in the process of writing a new version in Python.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BSc (Computer Science) or BEng (Electrical/Electronic) Degree or BIS Multimedia is a must
• 2-4 years’ experience in the web development space.
• Programming languages required PHP, experience in mobile technologies (PhoneGap and the like), advantageous Perl/Python
• Good knowledge of and experience with the following supporting web development technologies and concepts: SOAP, REST, HTML, CSS, Javascript (including jQuery and AJAX), JSON.
• Frameworks: Symfony, Laravell, Slim or CakePHP
• Active past experience with some form of version control system, preferably Subversion or Git is beneficial.
• Decent experience with Linux, MySQL and Apache/Nginx administration, including basic Bash shell scripting is a definite plus.
