Plant Fitter (Afrimat, Nkomati Anthracite – Sikhwahlane Plant) at Afrimat

Duties and responsibilities:

• To do maintenance and breakdown repairs on all mechanical equipment
• To perform inspections
• Report any difficulties or faults arising in the operation or utilization of the equipment
• Maintain OHASA standards and ensure high levels housekeeping
• Ensure all tasks are planned and properly executed on time and that work orders are completed correctly within the given time frame
• Ensure that all tools (including chemicals and hazardous substances) are tracked, maintained, stored and used in a safe working order as required by the MHSA, relevant national standards and best practices
• Perform any additional work that might be required by the Plant GES or Plant Foreman
• Must be willing to be utilised for task outside of the normal plant environment as may be required by the mine
• Will be required to perform overtime, standby duties and respond to call-out work

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Requirements:

• Grade 12 / National Certificate Level (N2)
• Fitter trade test certificate of competency (Section 13 / Section 26)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Plant Fitter within mining environment.
• Must be able to follow OEM specifications
• English proficiency
• Code EB driver license
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Medically Fit (Complete medical by OMP)
