As a Coal Processing Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient coal processing operations while meeting production and quality targets. You will supervise plant personnel, coordinate maintenance activities, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including proper use of equipment, handling of hazardous materials, and adherence to safety regulations
Directly supervise plant operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to ensure smooth operations
Monitor production processes to ensure optimal efficiency and output, identifying and addressing any issues or bottlenecks that may arise
Oversee quality control procedures to ensure that the coal meets specified standards, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary
Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs of plant equipment to minimize downtime and maximize reliability
Maintain accurate records of production, safety incidents, equipment maintenance, and other relevant data, preparing reports for management as required
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating and empowering team members to achieve production targets and maintain high standards of safety and quality
Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise, implementing solutions quickly to minimize disruptions to production
Maintain open lines of communication with other shift supervisors, management, and support staff to ensure effective coordination and problem-solving across shifts
Identify opportunities for process improvements, costs savings, and efficiency enhancements, implementing changed and best practices to drive continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Basic coal preparation certificate - compulsory
5 years' experience on a Coal Washing Plant
Able to work shifts as required by the employer
Willing to work overtime
Good understanding of safety standards and procedures
