PPE is worn consistently and correctly before handling agrichemicals.
Spray and measuring equipment are cleaned, calibrated, and ready for use.
Spray instructions are understood and followed accurately.
Chemicals are assembled and mixed in accordance with prescribed dosages and procedures.
Greenhouse areas are vacated prior to spraying to ensure staff safety.
Spray equipment, including the electric spray cart and trailer, is operated safely and efficiently.
Agrichemicals are applied to the correct crop, using the appropriate method (e.g., foliar, root drench, or drip).
Irrigation system is paused safely during mixing.
Fertilizers are added in correct quantities to the right tanks, as per program instructions.
Measuring equipment is inspected and maintained in working order.
Probes are stored correctly and remain undamaged.
Water volume, electrical conductivity (EC), and pH are accurately measured and recorded.
REQUIREMENTS:
National Senior Certificate with mathematics (Grade 12) (Essential)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift and/or move bags of up to 25 kg’s at least.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The individual will be required to work in most cases in an enclosed environment inside a pump house and inside the greenhouse environment.
Requires physical strength to pull and roll heavy duty spraying hose reel.
