Postharvest Agricultural Research Technician - Fruit Industry - Nelspruit at Agricruitment Limited

Job purpose: 

• Ensure technical packhouse, trial and cultivar data is captured, actions are performed, and reporting is done on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis as specified.

Key Accountability Areas

Postharvest Trials:

• Assist in day-to-day research.
• Evaluate fruit for trial purposes.
• Travel between packhouses for evaluations and technical support

 Qualification and Experience

• Minimum Diploma in Agriculture
• 2 years in the citrus Industry with experience in basic technical trouble shooting
• Some experience with nurseries and/or farming.
• Some experience with irrigation and scouting

Competencies and Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Computer literate

MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills necessary

• Driving licence
• Good verbal communication with packhouse managers and producers
