Postharvest Agricultural Research Technician - Fruit Industry - Nelspruit

Job purpose:
- Ensure technical packhouse, trial and cultivar data is captured, actions are performed, and reporting is done on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis as specified.
Key Accountability Areas

Postharvest Trials:
- Assist in day-to-day research.
- Evaluate fruit for trial purposes.
- Travel between packhouses for evaluations and technical support
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Agriculture
- 2 years in the citrus Industry with experience in basic technical trouble shooting
- Some experience with nurseries and/or farming.
- Some experience with irrigation and scouting
Competencies and Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Computer literate
MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills necessary
- Driving licence
- Good verbal communication with packhouse managers and producers
- Teamwork
- Accuracy and accountability
- Attention to detail.
- Innovative
