    Poultry Team Lead

    • The Poultry Team Lead is responsible for technical support for all poultry customers in relation to all our products and service offerings to our external customers as well as internal stakeholders. Employee identifies business potential in existing customers as well as prospects and provides complete solutions (in combination with other team members) to ensure growth.

    Job Description: 

    • This position is the lead in terms of technical support for the poultry segment in our OpCo and will be responsible for offering value added service, support and products to various customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Provides professional nutritional expertise to key customers, junior nutritionists, formulators, area managers and other industry players and safeguards high level nutritional standards of the product portfolio.
    • Ensures the development and marketing of new products, based on knowledge of costumer needs, nutritional requirements, raw material inputs and technological opportunities.
    • This position provides the technical execution of new product ideas, in line with the company strategy and in co-operation with various teams, to achieve feasible and profitable product developments and innovations.
    • Ensuring optimal production efficiency (minimizing unnecessary raw materials, assisting in operational discussions, ensuring timeously reworks) with regards to product portfolio.
    • Part in developing and guiding junior nutritionists and formulators within the team.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Nutrition and Formulation

    • Responsible for technical requirements (nutritional, product offering, service offering etc) of key accounts
    • Translating research findings and practical experiences into animal feed portfolio
    • Monitoring feed formulations to meet quality performance and animal health standards
    • Coordinating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
    • Providing support, expertise and development of training, marketing and sales materials for Poultry portfolio (products and nutritional concepts) for the technical and sales team  

    New product development and marketing

    • Developing new products based on your knowledge of customer needs and opportunities in the market
    • Manages and develops protocols, data and reports of all trials of registered products
    • Responsible for quality control, analysis and interpretation of trial data and preparations of final reports
    • Key in determining marketing routes and feasibility of new product developments.
    • Increasing Poultry market footprint

    Management

    • Lead and develop the junior nutritionists and/or formulators in monogastric team.

    Qualification and Experience

    • BSc or MSc degree (preferred) in Animal Science or related field
    • More than 6 years’ experience in poultry nutritional field with farm management and feed mill experience an added advantage
    • SACNASP registered Professional Natural Scientist
    • Proficient in English
    • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
    • People leadership skills
