Power BI Developer at Salt South Africa

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisation’s specific to retail business needs.
• Gather and analyse business requirements to create data models and visual insights focused on retail operations, sales, and customer behaviour.
• Connect to various data sources, transform raw data, and prepare it for reporting.
• Optimise Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability and performance for retail stakeholders.
• Work with large language models and integrate them into data insights to enhance retail analytic.
• Leverage AWS services to manage, process, and analyse retail data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across retail operations, marketing, and sales teams to ensure reports meet business objectives.
• Implement data security within Power BI to restrict access as required.

Qualifications:

• 2-6 years of experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modelling.
• Experience with AWS services for data management and analysis.
• Hands-on experience in data visualisation and creating intuitive, interactive dashboards for retail applications.
• Familiarity with large language models and their applications in data insights.
• Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of Azure services, such as Azure Data Factory or Synapse.
• Experience with other BI tools like Tableau or Qlik.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R.
