We are looking for a great Account Manager to join our PR team - working on our corporate and business accounts.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Account Manager works on the PR and communications accounts within the agency under direction of the Account Director. They are responsible for meeting deadlines, delivering against plans and working within budgets, and mentoring the junior team members, particularly in terms of skills development. They will also work on other new business and project work as required.
SCOPE OF WORK
Strategy and planning
Support the Account Director in researching and developing strategies and plans.
Implementation and day-to-day roll out of agreed plans, under direction of the Account Director.
Media relations, relationship building and content creation
Responsible for implementing media relations campaigns, supported by the Account Executive, to ensure targets are met and plans are delivered against.
Develop and maintain a strong set of relationships with media and other influencers, which is up to date and relevant to the client accounts.
Drafting of press releases and other content as needed.
Events and projects
Support Account Director to implement event and project plans, ensuring objectives, timelines and budgets are met.
Display excellent programme delivery and project management skills.
Crisis and issues management

Team management
Support Account Director in management of Account Executive.
Responsible for leading, motivating and mentoring Account Executive and Intern.
Account management
Build a relationship with the client and deliver against all briefs, plans and activities.
Display a core understanding of the client business and an excellent relationship with the client.
Display financial acumen – demonstrate an understanding of account budget forecasts, time recons and budget management.
Attend client meetings and presentations, responsible for creating agendas in advance of the meeting, and circulating minutes or contact reports within 24 hours after the meeting.
Draft and circulate weekly and monthly status reports, accurately and on time.
Other
Proactively research, recommend and implement new trends and ideas in the communications sphere.
Support the Managing Director and Account Director drafting proposals for new business and potential new clients, as needed.
Display excellent presentation skills – verbal and written.
Other tasks and activities as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Three years minimum experience in a PR or communications agency or similar role.
Excellent media relations skills with proven relationships and results in traditional media placement.
Excellent writing skills: from press releases, to reports, to blog and social media posts.
Obsessive attention to detail and massively organised.
Understanding of all marketing disciplines – digital, branding, online etc.
PERSONALITY
Outgoing, opinionated and confident – but with being arrogant or obnoxious. Prima Donnas not wanted, but neither are wallflowers.
Ability to lead others.
Calm under pressure.
Self starter – high energy, ability to get stuck in and get their hands dirty.
Creative.
Enthusiastic.
Articulate and well presented.
Obsessed with media and communications – whether that be a passion for magazines or news, or fanatical about blogging.
