Principal AI Product Manager at MultiChoice

Purpose of the Position:
To help chart our AI strategy by working with our stakeholders to define the problems we are solving with AI. You will design the specifications and data AI programmers needed to deploy AI products. To succeed you must become an expert in AI and in our business domain.

Key Performance Objectives
Tasks
Research, Reporting & Benchmarking

• Organize experts from business lines, data scientists and engineers to create shared goals and specifications for AI products
• Perform benchmarking and gap analysis on existing AI solutions. Identify opportunities to leverage common use cases across the group and drive cross-group AI-product development opportunities
• Oversee the delivery of accurate product roadmaps and timelines for key strategic AI products
• Anticipate and identify new AI trends / data needs

Financial Management

• Provide budgetary and forecasting support to the business
• Assist with the creation of business cases to support the justification of new AI initiatives
• Provide direction to the business for business opportunities and key saving initiatives

Stakeholder Management

• Work with executives and business line stakeholders to define the problems we need to solve with AI
• Help executives and business line stakeholders to prioritize and rank the AI solutions proposed and, where appropriate, assist with business case creation
• Provide subject matter expertise in working with solution development teams to define and implement AI solutions

Operational Delivery

• Define and implement a group-wide demand management and prioritization forum for AI products
•  Work with individual business units to ensure that their AI priorities are in line with each other and with group priorities
• Identify opportunities to innovatively use AI to provide strategic & operational insights to business
• Use AI to generate new business insights
• Create AI products that provide quantifiable business value
• Conduct deep dives and prepare Executive level quality presentations
• Leads the market discovery and innovation processes related to AI solution domains, identifying potential AI-driven solutions and initiatives
• Provide subject matter expertise in the review of data sets, whether for training, validation or testing
• Identify new AI-driven solutions and evaluate emerging AI-led technologies
• Manage user acceptance testing to ensure the products deliver expected business value
• Ability to develop and test AI POCs making use of existing products or services

Ethical AI

• Set up a group-wide ethical AI council and establish the group principles for ethical and responsible use of AI
• Drive awareness across the group and ensure that all AI products live up to these principles
• Provide executive reporting on ethical AI considerations, roadmap and progress

Qualifications Essential:

• Post graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Quantitative field (Econometrics, Mathematics or Statistics)

Experience

• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant enterprise product development experience working as a lead developer, data scientist manager or product manager
•  Experience defining and developing a new product or service
• Demonstrated commitment to learning about AI through your own initiatives through courses, books, or side projects.
• Basic statistics skills acquired through academic study (i.e. math, computer science, engineering, economics, physics) or comparable work experience
• Understand how the products are developed and the ethical responsibilities associated with AI and customer privacy implications
• Understand or be willing to build a strong capability in the use of AI in media across the media value chain and lifecycle
