Principal Communications - Richards Bay at South32

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Strategic development of Hillside Aluminium Communications Plan (internal and external) in line with the business plan, and stakeholder and community plans;
• Execute all local media engagements and communications in accordance with the Hillside Aluminium Communications Plan and South32 corporate requirements;
• Ensure all communications content and materials are delivered in line with company procedures and protocols and adhere to the External Affairs Standard and associated guidelines;
• Lead site-based crisis communications response and participate in Incident Management Teams when required;
• Manage communications to a broad range of stakeholders, including local communities and government to support continued operation and manage reputational risks;
• Input to South32-wide communication channels including website, social media platforms, intranet and annual report;
• Ensure compliance to South32 Brand strategy.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Senior Communications role;
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential and Zulu is an added advantage;
• Experience in managing end-to-end communications program;
• Experience in the manufacturing and /or mining sector is essential.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTech/National Diploma in Communications/ Public Relations/ Business or related discipline
