    Principal: Infra, Water &Telecom Fin

    To lead and originate transactions in the Infrastructure, Water & TMT Finance business unit, a unit focused on originating, implementing and maintaining structured lending transactions in the sectors its name reflects. The unit specifically focusses on lending transactions with project finance characteristics, relying on the ringfenced cash flows of underlying projects to service debt. As such, the unit understands the underlying technical aspects and contractual regime of the projects it finances. The unit manages projects through their lifecycle, from origination, implementation and financial close, through to construction and operation.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead and originate transactions within the Infrastructure, Water & TMT Finance unit within Debt Finance.
    • Provide meaningful input and insight into 3-year business plans as part of the Debt Finance and Investment Banking strategic planning processes.
    • Support Nedbank in maintaining a thought leadership role in relation to infrastructure project development in South Africa and the African continent.
    • Optimise performance through appropriate management of resources, retention of talent and critical staff within the Infrastructure, Water & TMT Finance unit.
    • Lead and originate sustainable earnings, with acceptable risk adjusted return.
    • Grow Infrastructure, Water & TMT Finance’s market share by leading origination, building networks, and developing Nedbank CIB’s brand in the Infrastructure, Water & TMT market.
    • Monitor market trends by researching and recording market developments, competitor activities and innovation of products and services.
    • Lead innovation and product development in Infrastructure, Water & TMT Finance.
    • Grow bank wide profitability by attracting and retaining clients and supporting cross-sell to relevant product areas.
    • Contribute to the development of a robust and effective Debt Finance leadership team through leadership and active participation.
    • Deliver quality structured debt solutions to meet requirements of existing and potential customers.
    • Manage portfolio risk to maintain profitability and acceptable credit loss ratios.
    • Manage risks by ensuring compliance with the relevant credit, investment and compliance policies of the bank.
    • Identify and mitigate operational risk by implementing controls.
    • Build and sustain trusting internal and external relationships and alliances across functional and organizational boundaries through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

    Essential Qualification - NQF Level

    Preferred Qualification

    • Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree (Commercial/Legal/Sciences/Accounting).
    • CA(SA) / ACCA / MBA / CFA / Relevant Postgraduate Qualification.

    Type of ExposureMinimum Experience Level

    • 8+ years relevant experience with a demonstrated track record of originating, structuring and executing project finance transactions in the infrastructure sector.
