    Principal Software Engineer - JHB

    About the Job

    • Architecture for L+G platforms and Coaching/mentoring of junior team members
    • Technology scouting to ensure L+G choose the right technologies and techniques for use in the future Support Product Management during the definition of new product ideas and roadmaps
    • Proof of concept or pre-development project implementation possibly with a small team of engineers
    • Member of standards committees or working groups
    • Embedded software development for the metering market (mostly done in C/C++)
    • Focused approach towards software quality, analytical approach towards design and debugging
    • Interpretation of technical documentation and specifications
    • Working with the meter support tools 

    About You:

    • Extensive work experience as Senior Engineer (min. 5 years) in international environment
    • Bachelor´s degree in relevant subject ideally Computer Science
    • Fluent English
    • Experienced in General R&D Skills (Project Management, Technical requirements Analysis, R&D Process, Information Security...)
    • Experienced in C, C++ Programming, Microcontrollers,Emulators and Debuggers, Architecture, Configuration Management, Testing etc. 
    • Leadership skills with strong communication and social skills
    • Strategic thinking with customer focus 
    • Very good in Problem solving and Planning
    • Project and Process Management
