    Principal Technician

    Requirements

    • A National Diploma in Project Management, Environmental/Waste Management, Business Management, or a related field.
    • 5-8 years’ relevant experience post registration as per KPA’s below,
    • With a minimum of 2 years in project management, tender administration, and/or contract management, project coordination, programme support, or waste management operations.
    • At least 2 years at supervisory level
    • Fully conversant with MS Office Applications and high proficiency in Excel.
    • Valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • Waste Management experience (advantageous).
    • Willingness to learn new technologies and developments.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Assist with the programme and project management of City-wide Cleansing Services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, City policies and operational standards.
    • Plan, implement and coordinate specialised cleansing projects and programmes, including seasonal initiatives, ward allocation projects and green litter bin rollouts including the compilation, review and approval of Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) and implementation plans.
    • Manage the project life cycle, through Developing technical specifications and tender documentation, and provide technical input to Bid Evaluation Committees while supporting tender and contract administration processes.
    • Conduct site visits, inspections and operational monitoring of cleansing programmes and projects, and compile inspection and compliance reports where required.
    • Research technological and innovative trends in waste management and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
    • Maintain operational databases, records and reporting systems,including programme records and Share compile technical and management reports.
    • Coordinate internal teams, stakeholder engagements and staff development initiatives, while contributing to Cleansing Branch sector planning
