RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical

• Identify, report and rectify all technical areas of concern on assigned production equipment
• Fault analysis and problem-solving
• Maintenance
  • Independently develop maintenance plans and checklists
  • Ensure maintenance is done at required intervals according to the plans
• Spares
  • Identify spares needed for assigned equipment

Machine Setting

• Independently develop machine settings
• Set and check that machines are correctly set for each run

Document settings and setting adjustments centrally 

Management

• Liaise with Maintenance Manager & Production Manager (in charge) to ensure machine availability vs. major maintenance intervals
• Have an overview of what needs to be done and report to the Maintenance Manager & Production Manager
• Ensure sound relationships and communication with internal work-related staff

Administration

• Log jobs performed
• Analyze the Defect Register together with the Maintenance Manager & Production Manager to improve production result

Health & Safety 

• Ensure and enforce that aspects in the area of responsibility conform to Health and safety requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Work safely and report safety hazards or issues

Quality

• Apply the company’s quality principles and standards
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Food Safety System Certification (FSSC)

• Food safety standards are site-specific and at these sites, employees should:

General

• Perform additional tasks as required from time to time.
• Ensure the team knows what to do and where to find information if you are not available. 

 REQUIREMENTS

• Matric is a must!
• Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Manufacturing / Plastics Experience
• 5 years’ relevant setting experience
