    Procurement Buyer

    Purpose of the role

    The main purpose of the role for the incumbent will be all purchasing requirements of the Bank and to support the Procurement function accordingly, from requisition to pay. This entails, but not limited to, the purchasing of goods and/or capital equipment and services, sourcing of new vendors, benchmarking of pricing, management of commercial risk, achieve cost saving targets and maintaining adherence to policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the procurement of goods and services is consistent with the procurement policy and business requirements.
    • Execute end-to-end RFx processes according to RMB policies and procedures e.g. issue RFQs, manage closing of RFQs, facilitate evaluation of RFQs.
    • Prepare Purchase Orders and related documents accurately to cause no unnecessary delay in processing time.
    • Provide monthly reports on purchasing function e.g. category analysis, ageing report on open PR’s, PO’s and overdue orders.
    • Ensure all outstanding orders are followed up and closed off the system where applicable.
    • Keeping records for all relevant supplier information such as quotations, evaluation reports, performance analysis etc.
    • Expedite purchase orders to meet delivery requirements.
    • Benchmarking for quality and prices and lead times.
    • Resolving discrepancies and order amendments.
    • Drive of preferential procurement spend through targeted procurement.
    • Work with contracts management and build routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance as per the SLA’s.
    •  Negotiation of price
    • Negotiation of scope of work and timelines

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • CIPS level 2
    • Degree or equivalent NFQ Level 7 qualification

    Experience:

    • 2-5 years’ experience in Procurement environment
    • Familiar with the procurement processes including preparation of RFP/Q documentation, adjudications and related actions.

    Technical Pre-requisite:

    • Good knowledge of Procurement policies and procedures.
    • Sound knowledge of accounting procedures
    • Good knowledge of regulations guiding procurement, incl. BBBEE regulations.
