    Procurement Manager

    Procurement Manager

One day you are assisting with a low value, low risk, in-country purchase and on another you are engaged in a group-wide, enterprise, high value, high risk deal. As our next chief negotiator, you will need to be able to translate business and procurement strategies into effective operational plans but be agile enough to change quickly.

    It goes without saying that to be thrive in this role, you need to possess excellent negotiation skills , e xhibit professionalism from start to finish, be diplomatic and possesses some killer communication skills.     Needs Analysis And Start-up
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for establishing and developing internal customer relationships.
    • Ensure in-depth category knowledge sharing and coaching to the procurement team.
    • Understand and ensure the alignment of the services with the customer's business strategy and objectives.
    • Responsible for process improvement and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set within the team.
    • Allocation of workload across the team to ensure productivity vs capacity.
    • Manage P2P process and system gaps and controls. Ensure lean process and adoption.

    Category and Market Analysis

    • Ensure and drive correct spend data and integrity to support the procurement strategy.
    • Responsible for understanding, interpreting and sharing the market and trends information to support the procurement strategy.
    • Responsible for ensuring that process is followed within RFx and guiding the procurement team and internal client on the subsequent process.
    • Responsible for the development and execution of Category Strategies within the procurement team.

    Sourcing Strategy Definition

    • Driving various category and commodity strategies that can drive maturity within procurement lifecycle and services.
    • Accountable and responsible for understanding, documenting and reporting related risks and issues to the Head of Procurement.
    • SME assisting the procurement team and / or business when selecting an option – advisory.
    • Responsible for driving Reboot and OKR’s within the procurement team or collaborative teams within business.

    Go to Market

    • Responsible for stakeholder management for operational and strategic stakeholders.
    • Drive category planning - understanding business requirements from internal stakeholders .
    • Assist procurement team with RFx and subsequent process, take lead role in RFx process and complex negotiations.
    • Responsible for supporting team with negotiation strategies and approach.

    Contract Governance

    • Responsible for Performance and Risk Management, Supplier Relations Management, Customer Relations Management
    • Responsible for Commercial management and leakage prevention, to ensure that the contractual position contributes positively to the organization’s overall financial and business performance
    • Demand Management

    Closure

    • Manage benefits realization
    • Ensure clean contract exit, consider all risks and liaise with legal and compliance

    People Management

    • Identify gaps and development of the team to maximize productivity
    • Identify career development opportunities and share with HOP
    • Continuous in-depth category and knowledge sharing with team

    Sourcing Strategy and Implementation

    • Drive cost reduction programs such as value analysis / engineering and standardization.
    • Manage and improve procurement process to obtain the lowest cost of ownership for commodities.
    • Drive procurement strategy for the company / internal client and ensure implementation.
    • Implement and manage purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures.
    • Develop, review, approve and manage new administrative, purchasing, negotiation and clerical procedures.
    • Drive continuous comprehensive value analysis in all areas of procurement in collaboration with suppliers / vendors and consultants to determine areas where savings can be made by the company.
    • Manage disputes between the company and vendors / consultants, before escalations to senior stakeholders
    • Lead and manage the selection process of approving a vendor engagement
    • Manage evaluations of overall revisions, price and past performance

    Contract Management

    • Manage the administration of complex contracts, major subcontracts and other agreements in a way that will maximize corporate return on investment, including providing strategic inputs, reviewing and executing contract and major subcontract documents and correspondence
    • Manage the drafting, negotiation, authorization and execution of new contracts and changes to existing agreements, with acceptable commercial risks that increase profits. Includes extending, renegotiating and terminating contracts. Liaise with counterpart in Legal

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Procurement.
    • MCIPS Qualifications (Level 6) (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) - highly beneficial
    • Minimum 7-years’ experience within an ICT procurement environment at a senior level
    • Experience in building and managing effective procurement teams
    • International procurement experience or exposure
    • Source to Contract and Procure to Pay system experience and knowledge
    • Strategic Sourcing
    • IT Hardware, Software and Telco/Network category experience
    • Enterprise (Global) wide contract negotiations
    • Responsible for delivering Procurement services for the organization, including managerial, adversarial and administrative responsibilities.
