The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of the organization to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
This role manages procurement staff, coordinates purchasing strategies, ensures compliance with company policies, and fosters strong supplier relationships. The Procurement Supervisor plays a key role in inventory control, vendor management, and cost savings initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily procurement operations and a team of buyers or procurement officers.
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for best value in terms of quality, price, and delivery.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Warehouse, Operations, Sales) to ensure smooth flow supply.
Resolve any supply-related issues, delays, or discrepancies.
Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings, and performance metrics.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferrable.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP) is a plus.
