    Product/Brand Manager

    Job Purpose

    • Responsible for development of brand plans, marketing, and sales objectives, strategies, advertising, and promotion and ensure successful execution thereof for EAC region. Evaluate the practicality and potential of new products and market development within EAC. Coordinate cross-functional brand teams and management of agencies to implement plans. Accountable for the development of the EAC CLUSTER digital strategy and be appointed as the digital champion in this regard

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop annual and monthly sales volume and profit forecasts, pricing and expense budgets.
    • Forecast product requirements, identify potential supply issues and develop contingency plans.
    • Oversee planning of Doctor Detail / Hospitals & Pharmacy sales promotion and advertising to drive performance of products within the portfolio, and determine to-market strategies and sales tactics to achieve sales objectives.
    • Ensure sales force adoption of key promotional activities through product and campaign training to the sales force on a regular basis.
    • Review promotional budget, manage changes as required, and communicate at the proposed forecast stage.
    • Ensuring that the product and marketing efforts are aligned with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
    • Coordinating the formulation of sound marketing strategies for each promoted product in line with Marketing Excellence principles as well as portfolio and company financial and strategic objectives and ensure full implementation.
    • Demonstrated track record of successful development and implementation of insight-driven digital promotional campaigns and activities to drive demand
    • Drive and coordinate the rollout of regional driven digital campaigns within the cluster
    • Impact measurement through the creation of a dashboard for feedback to the leadership and regional team
    • Understanding financial and business considerations impacting both the company's capabilities and readiness to support a strategic drive via new product and/or service introduction.
    • Developing and sustaining productive customer relationships.
    • Responsible for interactions with Third Parties / TPMs to ensure achievement of agreed-upon objectives
    • Managing company resources consistent with company policies to achieve organizational goals.

    Knowledge, Skills, Competencies And Experience

    • Proven track record in the Pharmaceutical Industry, with a minimum of 4 years of product management experience.
    • At least 3-5 Years of Pharmaceutical sales experience with a proven strong successful track record and sound organizational skills, financial acumen, and ability to multi-task.
    • Proven product launch and brand planning experience.
    • Experience in managing effective channel and/or value chain management and experience in pharmacy selling.
    • Generic brand's background/ experience is preferable as well as MUST have handled multiple brands.
    • Multichannel knowledge and channel trade management will be beneficial
    • Previous experience in establishing relationships, KOL development & maintenance for the key brands.
    • Strong leadership competencies including making difficult decisions, initiative, integrity, and adaptability.
    • Strong interpersonal relations and customer focus.
    • Strong digital marketing & promotional skills
    • Strong ability to interpret sales & marketing figures + market/trend analysis.
    • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
    • Experience in working with market data/market analysis (IMS, Impact Rx, etc)
    • Energetic, self – starter and proven customer-centric approach.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
    • Computer literacy: Excel, PowerPoint, is essential.

    Education :

    • Tertiary qualification in Health Sciences and/or Business Sciences or equivalent. Is essential.
    • Additionally, the Marketing qualification/IMM/Commercial qualification is an advantage.

    Estimated Percentage of Travel: 40%Travelling ( Local and international) + in-field
