Product Owner at Santam Insurance

What will you do?
Santam Client Solutions is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join their team!

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Define product strategy, visions, objectives and product roadmap for the Client Solutions Sales & Servicing business.
• Understand the business goals and vision and translate this into a product strategy that meets and exceed these goals
• Work with product and business stakeholders to ensure delivery that meets customer needs and enables strategic intent.
• Works with the teams to break features into stories including acceptance criteria based of the Business requirements. 
• Involvement in team and program meetings – PI planning, agile ceremonies, sprint standup, retros etc
• Product owner syncs 
• Ensures alignment between work delivered and ultimate expectations as defined in the feature statement.
• Benefit and metric tracking
• Understand and be active in removing impediments to the team that are raised.
• Communication risk effectively to stakeholders.
• Contributing to the business rollout of changes for enhancements or new features
• Crafting the change Canvas and working closely with change manager to articulate the change 
• Input into new SOP’s or updates are required
• Input into training requirements 
• Communicate and align with other Product owners when inter team dependencies and trade off are required to be solved
• Make day to day decisions that will impact business and development.
• Responsible for product success and will create the product roadmap and manage backlog and prioritse actions based on changing requirements.
• Managing the backlog for the supporting business areas
• Priortising items to be worked on for the PI planning
• Dealing with scope and priortiy changes

Role will oversee all stages of product creation including design, development, model, building and running the solution for the following teams
The Product owner support enhancements, new systems and BAU’s for 

• Avaya
• LMS/ D365
• Policy center 
• Data & Reporting 
• The Product owner supports the following business areas
• Direct Sales
• Direct Servicing
• Direct Underwriting
• Direct Retentions
• STA hub Sales & Servicing 
• Working closely with RPA team for BOT solutions
• Working closely with Digital and Guidewire teams as well.
• Performance of the product and will have report back performance and gaps identified. 
• Continuously evaluate product based on user and stakeholder engagement, interaction and feedback.
• Management reporting of product performance at governance forums.

What will make you successful in this role?
Minimum requirements:

• Minimum 4-6 years as a Product owner in an agile environment OR 8 years plus as a Senior Business analyst/ Business Architect in an agile environment 
• Related IT or Business degree
• Working experience in Short term insurance and financial services industry
• Knowledge of Agile framework like Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile (SAFe) etc
