    Production Controller

    About the Role

    • Macmillan Education – South Africa is seeking a skilled Production Controller to join our Regional Publishing Services team, based in Midrand. As a Production Controller, you will coordinate and manage the production processes of educational materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Coordinating schedules and production processes
    • Managing budgets and costs
    • Managing relationships with suppliers 
    • Liaising with key stakeholders
    • Record keeping and reporting
    • Performing quality control and ensuring compliance with company standards

    Experience, Skills & Qualifications

    • Printing or Production qualification (print and digital)
    • Undergraduate degree in publishing studies or other relevant field (advantageous) 
    • Project management qualification/training (advantageous)
    • Experience with key software, including MS Office and Adobe applications/DTP software (including, but not limited, to Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a production or publishing environment, preferably in educational publishing
    • Knowledge of production processes for educational materials, including print and digital products
    • Proven project management experience, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects
    • Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Organisational and time management skills
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strategic-thinking skills
    • Able to work effectively in a hybrid, deadline-driven environment
