Purpose of the Job    

• The successful candidate must be able to ensure that the general assistants and the clerks function efficiently by checking that parcels are picked and checked accurately and within the allocated cut-off times.

Job Objectives    

•  Assist in ensuring that parcels leave the Production department to Dispatch on time
•  Assist in ensuring that the entire process of Picking, Checking and Packing of all invoiced items are done efficiently and effectively
•  Ensure that staff follow the standard operating procedures of the Production department
•  Assist in ensuring that people are utilized where the need is the greatest
•  Clearly communicate instructions and allocate work clearly in order to utilize staff optimally
•  Communicate to HR any changes to the WFM schedule and assist with submitting leave forms on behalf of the supervisor
•  Enforce Good Warehouse Practice principles by ensuring general housekeeping of sector maintained, including labeling
•  Perform any other reasonable Production Controller ad hoc duties

Qualifications    

•  Grade 12 qualification

Experience    

•  Previous working experience in a similar environment is an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills    

•  A good understanding of Operating Systems within a warehouse environment will be advantageous
•  Proficient in both spoken and written English and at least one other of the official South African languages
•  Good analytical and problem-solving ability and excellent attention to detail.
•  Computer literate-MS proficient
