• RCL FOODS is seeking a Production Manager to join our Sugar Division.  The role will be based in Komati Mill and will report into the Manufacturing Executive.
• The purpose of the role is to manage all aspects relating to Sugar production. This will include meeting Production, Budget, Quality and SHE goals in line with business objectives.

Minimum Requirements    

• BTech/B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering/Sugar Technology qualifications.
• Candidate must have completed Ten-week SMRI training course.
• At least 5 years’ experience in the Sugar Manufacturing environment, as an Assistant Production Manager or Process Engineer responsible for Raw-house and/or Refinery.
• Understanding and advanced knowledge of the Sugar manufacturing process (Rawhouse) and operations parameters.
• Candidates must have intermediate MS Office skills.
• Self-starting, action-orientated individuals with well-developed communication skills should apply.
• Working knowledge of SAP system will be an added advantage.
• The ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy is critical to this position.
• To be considered for appointment, candidate must be a South African citizen

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Leading multi-discipline operational functions (sugar production, laboratory services and water works, sugar warehousing, despatch, and      landfill).
• Formulation and implementation of production strategies, policies, plans, budgets, quality standards, etc. 
• Ensure that appropriate sugar production processes are applied to achieve sugar production targets within budget, safety, and quality parameters.
• Optimize factory throughput and recoveries to achieve production targets.
• Manage Process LTA and UDL to a minimum and maximize Overall Time Efficiency (OTE).
• Provide technical support to the team.
• Compile and control operational and maintenance budgets.
• Planning of Process Off Crop, short & long stops work and implementation.
• Develop Process capital improvement plan and manage various projects.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents and implement preventative measures.  
• Maintain high quality work standards, comply with safety standards and requirements, and ensure good housekeeping in area of responsibility
