Professional Nurse: General – 18 posts (5-month contract)
Appropriate salary will be determined according to the regulatory framework (based on OSD).

Requirements:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e., Degree or Diploma in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Proof of current registration with SANC.
Experience:
Grade 1: No experience required.
Grade 2: A minimum of ten (10) years’ appropriate or recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Grade 3: A minimum of twenty (20) years’ appropriate or recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Duties:
Execute nursing duties and functions proficiently within the prescripts of applicable legislation, policies, and departmental standards.
Provide and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Monitor patient activities and perform standard nursing procedures in accordance with institutional policies and professional guidelines.
Apply a multidisciplinary approach to promote holistic patient and client care.
Maintain clinical competence through the application of scientific nursing principles and evidence-based practices.
Ensure accurate and complete patient records are maintained and updated at all times.
Enhance client satisfaction through quality service delivery, professionalism, and adherence to the Batho Pele principles and Patient Rights Charter.
Ensure efficient and effective utilisation of resources within the unit.
Render quality nursing care and assume management responsibilities of the unit in the absence of the Operational Manager.
Evaluate staff performance in accordance with the Employee Performance Management and Development System (EPMDS).
Motivate, coach, and mentor nursing staff to ensure continuous professional growth and improved service delivery.
Manage and control scheduled drugs in line with legal and institutional requirements.
Be available for day and night duties as operationally required.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support healthcare service delivery.
