Job Requirements

PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURE (REF A628)

• PhD in Northern Sotho coupled with at least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience. The successful candidate must also provide evidence of at least fifteen (15) publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals / book publications / chapters in a book as well as evidence of supervision of four Master’s or PhD students to completion.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:

• PhD in Northern Sotho coupled with at least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience. The successful candidate must also provide evidence of at least ten (10) publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals / book publications / chapters in a book. Candidate should have supervised at least four Master’s or PhD students to completion.

SENIOR LECTURER

• Doctoral degree in Northern Sotho. At least 5 years teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or 7 years’ professional experience in the relevant field. Must have 5 publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals as well as leadership qualities. Must have the ability to manage workload and possess efficient administration skills.

DUTIES

• The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students. Assist the department in developing and improving its curricular. Publishing in accredited journal. Conduct community engagement. To teach using E-learning/online resources/platforms.
