Program Logistics Engineer Level 2 (UITENHAGE) at Faurecia

Main purpose of the role

• The role of the Program Logistics Engineer is to organize the logistics, coordinate the data processing related to the projects and to respect the pre- established budgets.

Essential responsibilities and duties

The main responsibilities are as follow :

• Ensure on time availability of all PC&L deliverables for new programs.
• Coordinate all PC&L Program requirements to meet timeline and budget targets.
• Implement PC&L processes based on Forvia Excellence System for all new products and engineering changes.
• Implement Forvia Excellence System tools and practices (TPA, Levelling Board, Flat Storage, Small Train, Packaging Size Reduction, Pool Stock, Pull System, Milk- run, Back-up modes, etc.) for all new Programs.
• Creation and cross functional alignment of MIFA/MIFD for programs showing material flow and information flow.
• Calculate and validate Logistics costs.
• Consider Plant and PC&L strategy for all program planning activities.
• Be the primary contact person for the Program Team as well as the Customer regarding all Logistics topics of the project.
• Participate in the project review meetings.
• Define Logistics Equipment and storage requirements, prepare approval and implement new equipment according to project schedule.
• Implementation of the logistics processes (e.g. training of operator, technical changes to the warehouse, prepare TPA area, …).
• Define packaging specifications.
• Develop the packaging prototypes with our suppliers and coordinate Finish Good packaging with customers.
• Timeously implementation of packaging according to ramp up phase requirements.
• Prepare the PC&L specifications for the Purchasing Department.
• Ensure adequate staffing, training and development of team members.
• Avoidance of exceptional freight and obsolescence during project phase and implementation phase.
• Problem Solving Methods (e.g. 8D, PC&L Line, QRCIs) to stabilize new processes and to support a safe working environment during the implementation and stabilisation phase of new programs.
• Comply to HSE regulations and to enforce conformity of PC&L team members.
• Planning and smooth implementation of all new PC&L processes during program.
• Achieve cost targets and manage project schedule adherence.
• Close relationship with Program team and customers supported by regular communication.
• MIFA/MIFD are created and aligned according to Program requirements.
• Avoid Obsolescence.
• Avoid exceptional inbound and outbound freight during program phase.
• Transportation budgets/ targets are met for new programs.
• On-time availability of packaging for raw material, BOP as well as Finish Goods 
• multiple projects simultaneously ranging from feasibility phase to post launch

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Logistics.
• 3 Years practice in Logistics in Automotive Industry.
• Experience in program management.
• Strengths in MS Office (focus on Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Very good communication skills, ability to listen, coordinate and challenge.
• Working in a transparent way as a team player, rigorous with help of compromise and organised.
• Working autonomously with drive to work with data, priorities and deadlines.
