Programme Officer, Creating Opportunities For Youth And Women in Africa (COYWA)
Knowledge of international development cooperation frameworks for youth and women's empowerment and entrepreneurship approaches.
Knowledge of development cooperation policies, strategies, and best practices, particularly in relation to youth and women empowerment.
Familiarity with the priorities and strategies of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID).
Familiarity with the priorities and objectives of the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) Programme as it relates to youth and women empowerment.
Experience in providing technical assistance and advisory services to partner organizations, with an emphasis on economic empowerment programming for youth and women.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess challenges and gaps in entrepreneurships for youth and women and propose targeted interventions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including youth and women entrepreneurs and support organizations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
Excellent presentation, report writing, and communication skills.
Proficiency in one AU official language (French, English, Portuguese, Arabic), with fluency in another as an advantage.
Education and Experience:
A Master’s Degree in International Development, Gender Studies, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the implementation of youth and women’s programmes or in a related field within multilateral institutions or similar organizations at the national, regional, and/or international level.
Experience in delivering technical assistance and advisory support to partner organizations, particularly in the area of youth and women's economic empowerment programming, will be considered an added advantage.
OR
A Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Gender Studies, Economics, Economic Development, Public Policy, or a related field, with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the implementation of youth and women’s programmes or related field within multilateral institutions or comparable organizations at the national, regional, and/or international levels.
Experience in delivering technical assistance and advisory support to partner organizations, particularly in the area of youth and women's economic empowerment programming, will be considered an added advantage.
